National Calendar Day created by Autism Speaks.
While Autism Speaks is a controversial day I still think it’s important to speak about Autism.
Some content may be triggering in regards to autism. I’ve tried to do small clips of each thing I’m linking to to help prep for things. Instead of my usual style the choice is to “view” content through the links.
Why people are against Autism Speaks:
- Autism Speaks does not have a single autistic member on their board.
- Autism Speaks only spends 4% of their budget on “family services”.

“Autism speaks is a charity which describes itself as dedicated to people who ‘struggle’ with autism, funding research into “prevention, treatments and a possible cure.”

You cannot advocate for someone if you’re not listening, including or helping them. Autism isn’t the bubonic plague it should not be spoke of like it’s a monster from a horror film. Listen, Include and actually help or gtfo.
